My intentions of this blog are to of course showcase my talents but also to encourage others to bake! I want to show people that you do not have to attend a culinary arts school (if you do, that is obviously great!) to be successful in the baking business. You do not need super expensive equipment or a large oven to get wonderful and professional looking results. I have been in this business for a few years and I have learned so much without taking one class! And I want to share with you what I have learned.

Wonder Woman Cake

My wonderful mother celebrated her birthday last weekend and I of course had to make her a cake. I volunteered to watch my almost 2 year old sister overnight and at the same time wound up with a sinus cold. Never the less, i made the cake anyway! My mom really liked Wonder Woman when she was a liyyle girl so I decided to make that the theme of the cake. Here is what I came up with...
My mom hates fondant so I covered the cake in buttercream icing and decorated it with fondant pieces. Both tiers also have a strawberry filling which she really enjoyed!!!!

Blue Safari Baby Shower Cake and Cupcakes

I was recently asked to make both a cake and cupcakes for a safari baby boy shower last month. I was really excited because I love animal prints!!! I wanted to match the prints to the decorations that were purchased for the shower which were (cheetah/leopard not sure which one), tiger and giraffe images. Here is what I came up with.
The cake is a half sheet and completely covered in fondant and hand decorated. The cupcake are m famous Oh! Oreo cupcakes and topped with with fondant decorations. The customer really enjoyed them and I think that the made her baby shower extra special!!!

Super Laura Cake

I have been away from m blog for a very long time but of course I have been baking the entire time!! I have been busy with life and of course baking and I am now back to share with you my recent creations!

My mother-in-law celebrated her 50th birthday this past August. We celebrated on the Spirit of Philadelphia (ship in Philly) and I was of course in charge of making a wonderful cake. I had no idea what type of cake to make but m hubby wanted it to have some sort of "superwoman" theme to it and here is what I came up with.

Along with being a great mother she is so man other things including a great sister, daughter, nurse and caregiver. She is really a wonderful and loving person and I wanted to show that in the cake. She also LOVES her dog Romeo and shopping on QVC...lol. She absolutely loved the cake and so did everyone else, including the ship staff!!!
